Journal # 1
Has there ever been a time your life when someone told you that something improbable would happen and it did? Did the fact that the event was “predicted” cause you to behave differently than you would have otherwise and make it more likely for the event to occur? Or did the event simply seem to occur without any assistance from you? Recall what happened and include your feelings when you heard the event predicted and when it occurred.
Journal # 2
With all of the fighting and drama and major action going on in these first scenes, why do you think that Shakespeare starts this play with three witches on a bleak moor?
Journal # 3

Journal # 5 - Lady Macbeth: Now and Then
1. You will receive a pair of lines said by Lady Macbeth. Each pair contains a line from her sleepwalking scene and a line she said in an earlier scene. They have been paired because they refer to a common incident or situation, primarily the murders the Macbeths have committed. Some of them use an important common word.
2. Open your book to the line from the earlier scene, reacquaint yourself with the situation in the play at that time, and write a summary paragraph of that situation and a summary paragraph of how the character feels as she delivers the line.
3. Look back to the line from Act 5 and write summary paragraphs of the situation and the character’s feelings as she delivers the line.
4. Write a final paragraph explaining your conclusions about any change you perceive in the character of Lady Macbeth.
