Recall a time in your life when you were involved in a tough situation, had to make a decision about whether to turn back or push on, and found both options equally difficult. What did you do? Why?
2. Read Macbeth 3.5-talk about how this scene may or may not have been written by Macbeth.
3. Read Macbeth 3.6-point out the changing points of view in the castle. Ever since the scene at the feast, Macbeth has fallen out of favor with more and more people. It is also important to note that Macduff and Macbeth have fallen out and Macduff has followed Malcolm to England.
4. Let the class listen to the sounds from Jaws and Raiders. How do these sound effects change the effect of the scenes?
5. Read the first part of 4.1 as a choral reading with three actors playing the witches and the rest of the class providing sound effects (wind, dogs howling, owls hooting).
