2. Tell the students that the next seven scenes are very short and move very quickly to a conclusion. Make a parallel between this and Macbeth hurtling to his fate, despite all he can do (the three witches are often compared to the three fates of Greek mythology).
3. Watch Act 5, Scenes 2-8. Pause occasionally to summarize what is happening. Tell students that there are two main groups fighting today: Macbeth and his men, and Malcom, Macduff, Siward (English Lord) and his men (including Siward’s son, who will be killed by Macbeth). Remind the students of the witches’ prophecies.
4. Assign students the final project. Students will perform on Friday, March 13. Students will have the next 3.5 days in class to work on it.
