1. Have students answer the four questions on the overhead as a focus activity.
1. Do you think that students today have too much homework?
2. How many hours a night do you think students should spend on homework?
3. Are all homework assignments created equal?
4. Is doing homework a valuable use of a student’s time?

2. Go over the qualities of good questions.
3. Have students generate a list of topics they might want to study and ask questions about homework.
4. Have students work together as a class to rephrase questions from beginning of class to higher level questions more likely to garner valuable information and opinions from their interviewees.
5. Students continue to work on their ballads.
