April 14, 2009

1. Have one or two presentations. Do the students see any material in the presentations that would be fodder for satire?
2. Remind students about aestheticism (art=artificial), decadence, and epigram. Did they notice any epigrams in yesterday’s reading?
3. Introduce essential honesty questions to think about as students read Act I. Ask students about little white lies and lies of convenience. Is there anything wrong with them? Remind them of the noble lie we talked about with The Crucible.
4. Finish reading Act I
5. Have task groups report on their findings.
6. Assign Searching for Satire; it is due by April 23rd.
