SSR 13 Minutes
1. Students read a selection from John Gardner's modern translation of the Beowulf legend, Grendel.
2. After reading, compare the translation with those we have read earlier. Who is the "monster" in Grendel?
3. Give students the Anglo Saxon Boast Assignment. It is due back on Wednesday, January 13th. Give them time to work on it in class.
